Every wooden boat has a story. And those stories derive from who built them and who used them and where. Whether restoring a family’s heirloom, or building a new boat, the crew at Hall’s Boatworks is always mindful of the associations boats have.
Led by boatbuilder Reuben Smith, the Hall’s Boatworks crew has a passion for the history and the community that surrounds wooden boats. Our Boatworks operates within the historic context of the Hall’s Boat Corporation facilities and all of its offerings on Lake George where we’re part of a vibrant classic boat community. In fact, we still store and maintain boats Hibbard Hall sold in the 1920s.
Whether it’s the restoration of an antique or the construction of a new classic, let Hall’s Boatworks be a part of the story for your wooden boat.
At Hall's Boatworks, our restorations are designed to meet the needs of both the boat and its owner. We can maintain the historical fabric of the boat as much as possible, as well as the original construction method, or we can apply contemporary materials and technologies that make a classic or antique wooden boat easier to use and easier to own. Above all, we strive to insure that our wooden boat restoration work is itself restorable so your boat can live on for decades.
Many of our clients love the sound and power of
antique marine engines. But with today's long workdays, busy schedules and brief vacations, they need boats that are turnkey - reliable and functional.

Our crew is experienced in preserving the integrity of classic boat design as well as employing contemporary design and current construction trends. This balance allows them to
construct wooden boats with a sensibility to the manner in which they are used today.
